There are over 1 million LGBT families in our country raising over 2 million children. Yet, there are still people who say we are not fit to be parents. Many political and religious figures say the LGBT community has a radical agenda that will ruin the sanctity of marriage and destroy America. These people also work every angle possible to initiate new laws to deny us rights and protections for our families.
I am here to tell you my family is just like my neighbors’. We have the same worries and concerns as the average family. I spend my days packing lunches, getting my daughter dressed for school, worrying about my child’s safety, kissing boo boos, reading books to my daughter, singing songs at bedtime, protecting my family, working, watching my weight, spending time with my husband, and trying to find time to rest.
I started this blog to show everyone just how “radical” we are because we are so similar to them. I want my neighbors and fellow citizens to read about my days and explain to me just how my family is destroying America and it’s values.

A very special THANK YOU to Michael Adam Latz for the idea of a Radical Gay Family Agenda.
Thank you for doing this, Tommy! As a dad in another radical gay family, I share your delight in all that we do to live our lives honorably, raise our children, fold our laundry (does it ever end??? That is truly my radical agenda–someone ELSE to do my laundry!), and try to make our world a better place.
Have faith–much more unites us, than divides. There is a silent majority of Americans who–once they see how “ordinary” our lives are–will be moved to help us America once again live up to its promise: a land of freedom, liberty, and dignity.
Keep up the good work!

Good Morning! Just left Facebook to Tweet for a bit! A fellow Tweeter and by searching I found you guys! I was a hetrosexual male and married for 22 years. My wife and I divorced amicably after 22 years of marriage. I struggled with my identity for 6 years and finally decided to come out of the closet. When I came out to my daughter when she was 13, she stated, “Daddy, I know and I love you.” My daughter is now 21 and a proud and caring mother to my 2 year old grandson. I have a wonderful male partner of 3 years and could not be happier. Look forward to following your blog! Hugs to you and yours and your lovely daughter. Greg Moats-Reynolds (Knoxville, TN)
Just wanted to say I LOVE your blog and the humor you write with. Thanks for sharing, and keep it up! π
Thank you! Stay Radical!
Tommy
This is a great blog! As a younger member of the LGBT community, I’m glad there are responsible role models to help make my journey into a “radical” family life just a little more moderate π write on!
Be true to yourself and always remain radical! My best to you, my friend.
